Aircraft Summary
The Citation was created to be the most cost-effective executive jet for entry-level buyers, and it was designed to rival the King Air. Its single-pilot setup leaves room in the cockpit for an extra passenger on the right side. The cabin is quite snug at 12.7 feet long, 4.9 feet wide, and 4.3 feet high, but it can still fit six people comfortably. Plus, it’s equipped with a full-size lavatory and a small galley/refreshment area.
The Citation I, with serial number 500-0667, was manufactured in 1983 and converted to a model I/SP. Its wingspan was extended to 47.1 ft., its operating weights were increased, and thrust reversers were added during the last stages of development to make sure it could compete with other jets of its era. Two Pratt & Whitney of Canada JT15D-1/A/B turbofan engines powered the aircraft. Originally, Cessna installed analog radios, but now the avionics are digital. Although newer models have been created since then, the Citation I still has plenty to offer performance-wise. It can carry up to 2,097 lbs., has a maximum takeoff weight of 11,850 lbs., and can reach an altitude of 41,000 ft. The cabin is quite compact at 12.7 ft. in length, 4.9 ft. in width and 4.3 ft. in height; however it is able to seat 6 passengers plus there is a full-width lavatory and small galley/refreshment counter included too!
