Risk Areas

Claim History

The Legacy 650 model belongs to the Embraer ERJ 145 family and has a low accident record. They have a good claim history and most accidents or incidents are a result of pilot error.

Safety Features

The Legacy 650E capitalizes on Safe Flight’s AutoPower Automatic Throttle System (ATS). The ATS helps in reducing the pilot’s workload. It lets the pilot control the power setting of an aircraft’s engines by selecting a desired flight characteristic instead of controlling the fuel flow manually.

The automatic throttle system (ATS) helps in IAS/Mach speed control beginning from takeoff through landing. It also improves the pilot’s situational awareness.

The Legacy 650 uses Primus Elite Enhanced features which provide xm graphical weather capability, and as well, Jeppesen electronic charts, both of which can be used through a cursor control graphical interface.

Legacy 650E avionics was boosted to Primus Elite Advanced Features (PEAS), which keeps its predecessor’s features. But, a traffic collision avoidance system was added to lessen mid-air collisions.

Synthetic Vision System (SVS) was also added to the upgraded Honeywell Primus Elite avionics suite. SVS heightens situational awareness, despite the weather or time of day, most especially before the pilot lands.
