Safety Features

The twin PT6A-41 and PT6A-42 turboprop engines are safe and reliable engines. The Beechcraft King Air 200 is certified for flight into known icing conditions. The engine provides safe flight in such an environment. Exhaust gas heats the engine inlet ducts and an engine oil heat exchanger heats the fuel to prevent ice crystals from collecting in the fuel controller.

The King Air 200 has a robust design that allows it to survive in any environment. The engine features an auto feather and boosted rudder to facilitate single engine handling in case there’s an engine failure.

The 2020 King Air 200 series upgrade also improved flight safety by including an IS&S thrust sense Autothrottle System and digital pressurization. However the most important safety feature remains the pilot experience.
