Aircraft Summary

The Cessna Conquest I is the perfect aircraft for pilots who are instrument rated and looking to make the transition from multi-engine piston power to turbine. With a spacious cabin, generous baggage bins and comfortable flight characteristics akin to those of the 400-series line of twin Cessnas, it’s an ideal turboprop for transporting up to six passengers up to 800 nautical miles at 250 knots. Dimensionally identical to the 421C Golden Eagle, the 425 Conquest I is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PT6s providing 450 shaft horsepower each, plus other beefed up systems that give it a maximum takeoff weight of 8,600 pounds. Originally known as Corsairs until its weight increase saw it rebranded as the Conquest I, all 425s have since been configured accordingly.

Risk Areas

Safety Features

The Cessna 425 Conquest I is a reliable aircraft that has been proven time and time again. The biggest safety feature is the twin turboprop engines and the fact that it has been in operation for so long there’s a lot of pilots and mechanics that are very familiar with the aircraft.

Insurance rates start around 1% of the hull value and move up with less experienced pilots or riskier operations.
