Aircraft Summary

The Citation CJ2 is bigger than the CJ1, and it is powered by two Williams-Rolls FJ44-2C engines. These fanjets give an amazing power-to-weight ratio, producing up to 2400 pounds of takeoff thrust per side, but weighing less than 510 pounds. This aircraft can be RVSM certified when Service Bulletin SB-525A-34-01 is followed. The CJ2 has a fuel efficiency of 140 gallons per hour on average. It can take off in 3,420 feet at sea level or 5,080 feet at a height of 5,000 feet. Climbing to 37,000 feet takes seventeen minutes and its maximum certified flight ceiling is 45,000 feet with long range cruise speed of 352 knots and high speed cruise of 407 knots. All cabin pressurization systems (certified to 8.9 psi) are digitally controlled and can keep a sea-level cabin pressure at 23,586 feet. The CJ2 is easy to fly and can be operated by one pilot alone.

The Citation CJ2+ offers an impressive combination of features. Its Williams/Rolls-Royce FJ44-3A-24 turbofan engines are powered by FADEC, and it has a higher payload capacity than the CJ2 as well as more standard equipment. The aircraft also has a low operating cost due to its simple and reliable flight systems. Additionally, it boasts the Pro Line 21 avionics suite which has been redesigned and upgraded. Plus, its maximum takeoff weight increased by 1,700 pounds and the maximum fuel weight rose by 780 pounds – giving owners more options when planning their flights.
