Aircraft Summary

The VI and VII models are the follow-up to the III model. The former is a stripped-down version of the latter, while the latter is an all-out, no holds barred iteration of the same aircraft. They both feature the same fuselage, wing, and tail as their predecessor, with the VI even utilizing identical engines. However, the VII has been outfitted with more powerful TFE-731-4R-2S engines that give it superior speed, climb rate, and hot and high takeoff performance. Furthermore, this aircraft can be RVSM certified upon completion of Service Bulletin SB-650-34-97.

Cessna Citation VII

Valuation

As of 2023 the market value of a Citation VII is $1,374,000 – $2,422,000. The price range varies largely based on the year of the aircraft and pre-buy inspection if it’s been listed for sale. In pre-buy inspections, mechanics and appraisers are typically looking for corrosion and this applies to any aircraft. The Citation VII was built between 1992 to 2000. The value depends on the engine TBOs, paint, interior, and avionics along with a clean accident history and accurate maintenance logs.

There were a total of 119 built by Cessna and 111 are still in operation, as of February 2023.

Safety Features

The Citation 650s or VII are dual pilot aircraft and a lot of the safety features in a flight operation depends on the experience of the pilots. Insurance companies will typically require both pilots to have completed annual simulator training in the Citation 650 annually.
