The DA 40 single-engine aircraft is the four-seat version of the two-seater DA20. It is a low-wing aircraft with a composite airframe, fixed landing gear and a T-tail. The DA40 can be powered by a 180 hp Lycoming IO-360-M1A engine or 168 hp turbocharged AE300 jet fuel engine.
