As of 2023, 204 DA62/DA52 have been produced. 190 are still in service while 3 have been retired. There are 11 DA62s with the manufacturer. This is to increase production to 50 aircraft per year to meet up with demands.

Risk Areas

The insurance rate starts at 1% of the hull value for a pilot with a private, instrument and multi engine rating for non-commercial flight operations. Pilots with no multi-engine time will have higher rates for the first year. DA62s with 7 seats have higher liability premium rates than ones with 5 seats.

The hardest Diamond Aircraft to insure is Student Pilots looking to purchase a high hull value DA62/DA52 for their Private Pilot training. There are two insurance companies that can insure these types of operations, but it does take some convincing, and the rate for the first year can be up to 3% of the insured value of the aircraft.

Claim History
