Aircraft Summary
Released in December 2015, the Legacy 450 was designed to fit between the company’s smaller Phenom aircraft and the larger Legacy 500 and 650. Boasting a maximum cruise speed of 48mph/870kmh/Mach 0.83 and a range of 3,337mi/5,371km/2,900nm, the Legacy 450 soon underwent an improvement following its first delivery. Embraer created a $570,000 conversion to turn the Legacy 450 into the Praetor 500. This conversion included changes such as level-sensing wiring in fuel tanks, moving over-wing gravity fueling ports, relocating the fuel-measurement system, reinforcing wing ribs to handle the added weight, and updating the flight control systems with a Collins Aerospace Pro Line Fusion avionics load. Additionally, the Praetor’s iconic swept winglets were installed and the appropriate placards and logos were replaced. The successful conversion was achieved thanks to the expertise of specialists, A&P mechanics, logistics teams and engineers from Embraer’s international operations. Taking into account the extensive modifications, the Legacy 450 Model Line will be discontinued after 2020.

The current price of the Embraer Legacy 450 ranges from $14,250,000 to $21,650,000. The price will depend on model year and other factors. Embraer started producing the Legacy 450 in 2015 and ended production in 2019; 30 aircraft were built within that time period.

The Embraer family has a great claim history. Although the Legacy 450 has a few accident records but a low fatality.

Safety Features
The Legacy 450 is equipped for safer flight. Its autopilot, autothrottle and closed-loop control systems work together with Fly-By Wire technology to improve safety in hostile conditions. It also has a special certificate enabling it to fly in RVSM airspace as well as approve flights into known icing (FIKI).
The Embraer Legacy 450 comes equipped with a Rockwell Collins heads-up display called the HGS-3500. The system includes graphical flight planning, terrain awareness warning and traffic monitoring–all displayed on a three-panel windshield display.
It also features auto throttles that reduce pilot workload from takeoff to landing and a synthetic vision system that enhances flight vision. The hydraulic system of the Legacy 450 also has three fail safes. Each engine has a hydraulic pump, so in case both engines fail, a third electric-powered pump will power the aircraft system.
